Gleneagles hotel

Gleneagles Hotel

If you're after a family getaway that combines both luxury and entertainment, Gleneagles Hotel is a perfect choice. Nestled in the beautiful Scottish countryside, this iconic hotel offers an unforgettable experience. Lucy stayed with her husband and three children in an inter-connecting suite and double room in the main house. Both were luxurious, spacious and beautifully decorated. The hotel itself is stunning and has a warm, welcoming atmosphere. Gleneagles really shines when it comes to activities. Lucy and family took advantage of the mini golf, bikes, family pool and the kids club. They booked an Off-Road driving experience for their older children which was a highlight. Gleneagles is more than just a hotel—it’s a destination in its own right. With a perfect balance of luxury, adventure, and family-friendly amenities, it’s the ideal choice for a memorable half-term getaway.

Chewton Glen Treehouse

Chewton Glen & Peppa Pig World

For families with young children aged 1 to 6, Peppa Pig World is an absolute delight! Located within the larger Paultons Park, this charming theme park is a haven for little Peppa fans, while still offering plenty for the entire family to enjoy. After a day filled with Peppa, George, and friends, unwind at nearby Chewton Glen. During Lucy's stay last October half term, she opted for a spacious Junior Suite for their family of five (they did have their hearts set on a treehouse, but sadly all were fully booked). The décor is warm and traditional, and the hotel boasts a lovely indoor pool and spa. There were lots of fun autumnal activities for the kids to enjoy during their stay and a scenic stroll down to the nearby beach was a highlight.

Coworth Park Hotel

Coworth Park & Legoland

Lucy and her family have had the pleasure of staying at Coworth Park several times, and on their last visit, they combined it with a trip to nearby Legoland. If you’re looking for a super luxurious base for a family adventure, this hotel should be top of the list. The hotel boasts beautifully appointed rooms, an amazing spa, and a stunning pool. While there are often plenty of families staying, it’s worth noting that Coworth Park isn’t as family-focused as some other hotels. Children’s activities, like the kids' club, are available but come at an additional cost, and they’re not exactly budget-friendly! That said, Coworth Park offers the perfect balance for those wanting a luxury escape while still keeping the kids entertained.

kids at calcot manor hotel

Calcot Manor & Cotswolds Farm Park

Lucy and her family have enjoyed staying at Calcot Manor several times, especially when their children were younger. With plenty of amenities tailored to kids, this hotel makes traveling with little ones very easy. Highlights include the Kids' High Tea at Calcot’s onsite pub which offers a high tea service specifically for children. The hotel features a wonderful kids' club and nice pool and spa. Lucy stayed in one of the family cottages, with a separate children’s bedroom: the bunk beds were a huge hit! When you're ready to explore the Cotswolds, one of Lucy's favourite places to visit is Adam Henson’s Farm Park, about an hour from the hotel. It’s a working farm that offers adorable activities for young children making it a perfect day out for families.
